About The Event
Experience the masterful creations of UGK Culinary Director Steve Glenn and Chef Kevin Coleman. Chef Steve, a Richmond native and Hell’s Kitchen standout, brings his rich Black Southern cooking to the table. Chef Kevin, with nearly two decades of experience and influences from Southern, Philippine, and Mexican cuisines, infuses his deep West Virginian Appalachian heritage into his dishes at Stock in Manchester, Richmond.
This event will spotlight the hidden history and cultural significance of Black Appalachian food ways, showcasing how diverse cultures have shaped Appalachian cuisine. Enjoy an evening of culinary stories and flavors that highlight the resilience, creativity, and deep connection to the land of Black Appalachian communities. Each dish will reveal the vibrant and often untold stories behind the food.
Join us for a night of Cultural Collaboration where Chef Steve Glenn’s soulful Black Southern cuisine meets Chef Kevin Coleman’s inventive flair. Celebrate the rich, diverse, and dynamic culinary landscape of Appalachian cuisine with a six-course menu and wine pairings by UGK Wine Director Justin Ferguson. The dinner will be held at TXTUR, Manchester's beautiful new retail space featuring high-quality handcrafted furniture. This is more than a meal – it’s a celebration of history, culture, and community spirit.
